A modern and culturally progressive city
Helsinki has been made the capital of Finland in 1812 through being more loyal and closer to the Russian Empire than Turku. Russian influences can still be found in the city’s architecture.
It has everything to offer from high technological equipment and brand marks such as Nokia to a large variety of interesting museums, galleries and design.
During recent years Helsinki became prominent as one of Europe’s top destination for weekend breaks and stop-over locations.
