Horse back riding with Icelandic horses

Midgård stable is situated in Sund, Tranvik with beautiful surroundings for a riding excursion in the snow

Icelandic horses originate from Scandinavian countries and were brought to Iceland by the Viking settlers, making for an interesting experience. Thus their relative small size these horses are able to carry the weight of a large grown adult. The main distinguishing feature however is that the Icelandic horse can perform five distinct gaits including the tölt and the flying pace.
Due to the location of the stable you can enjoy fascinating excursions to the castle in Kastelholm and the historical fortress of Bomarsund and enjoy a picnic break during your excursion.
This activity is suitable for both, groups and private arrangements and while some might not be to fond of riding you can try some of the courses available in Nybonds Keramik Kurscentrum next door.
